My Journey to Becoming a Holistic Health and Wellness Coach

Reading Time: 2 minutes

In November 2019, my life took an unexpected turn when I found out I was pregnant with my firstborn son, Austin. Up until that moment, I was certain that my path would lead me to Los Angeles to further pursue my acting career. But suddenly, everything was different. I was faced with a life-altering decision: do I continue chasing my dreams on the West Coast, or do I stay where my roots are, surrounded by family?

The questions were endless, and the uncertainty was overwhelming. How could I possibly balance the demands of a career in acting with the responsibilities of motherhood? Could I find a way to make it work, or was it time to forge a new path?

Then 2020 arrived, and with it, the world changed in ways none of us could have imagined.  Covid brought with it an entirely new layer of uncertainty—not just about my career, but about the health and safety of my growing family. I found myself questioning everything. What could I do to protect my unborn son? How could I ensure that we both stayed healthy in such a precarious time?

I dove deep into research, spending countless hours sifting through information, trying to distinguish fact from fiction. It was a journey down one rabbit hole after another, and I quickly realized just how broken our healthcare system truly is. The more I learned, the more I unlearned, and I found myself becoming increasingly passionate about health and wellness. What started as a quest for knowledge to protect my son evolved into something much greater—a calling.

I wanted better for my son, for my family, and for myself. I knew I had to take action, not just for my own well-being but to help others navigate the complex world of health. With the unwavering support of my mother-in-law, I enrolled in a health coaching program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). It was here that my passion for health transformed into a new career—a career dedicated to helping others achieve their highest level of wellness in mind, body, and soul.
